We have been focusing on shapes and have been making 3D shapes out of different nets. I made a rhombus and an octohedren. The octohedren is on right and rhombus on left:
To make them we got a big sheet of our net. WE decorated them and cut them out, folded them and stuck them in the right position.
We have been focusing on poetry. This week we have done Haiku poems. I wrote two to share with you. For example a haiku can be about possesions, hobbies or a traditional haiku is about nature. A haiku is set out like this:
Line 1: 5 syllables
Line 2: 7 syllables
Line 3: 5 syllables
One of mine is about Different Friends.
Find ways to share time
Be friends with someone today
Be friends with elders
Another is Drawing.
I can draw cartoons
Even things I love the most
Drawing is so fun
I hope you liked my poems.
Do you like my slide show?
Did you learn anything?
We went to the Bellarine Nature reserve. There we saw some interesting things like a plant that can get infected! We had two girls come along to show us some aboriginal culture. Their names were Tammy and Casey and they were from the Watharong Corporation.
First we saw a plant that can get infected. Weird! They are called grass tree.and they grow about 1-2 cm per year. This means that a lot of them are over one hundred years old.
On our stroll we saw a wallaby, we saw a red necked wallaby and a black wallaby. These creatures feed on shrubs. The ones we saw were hiding behind trees, but we still got a photo!
We were all tired but we had a great time walking! Here is a photo:
At Leopold Primary School we are an YCDI (You Can Do It) school. We have a big concert every year to show we can be confident, which is one of the big things in YCDI. We show this in different coloured keys. The green key is Getting Along which means to have good friendship. The blue key is Organisation which means to have tools ready for class. The yellow key is Confidence which means we can get up and try things. The red key is Persistence which means to bounce back and keep trying. And last of all the purple key is Resilience which means going for your goals. These are some of the things I have done to show these keys:
Getting Along– When I was moving schools form Mandama to Leopold I had to get along with new people. I found a few nice people and now I play with them regularly.
Organisation– When I was at camp I had to change beds because people where getting sick so I had to be organised so I wouldn’t forget anything.
Confidence– I have to be confident every year for my big ballet concert. I perform in front of hundreds of kids of all ages and parents.
Persistence– I have a very big goal, it is to become a famous ballerina. I have kept doing this goal for years now. I am very proud of myself.
Resilience– When I was three I dislocated my arm. I was very sore but I could not give up so I tried not to cry and moved on and my reward was that it fitted itself back in.
